With the blessings of the Almighty, JSS College of Nursing under the umbrella of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysore organized two days of National Level Conference on the theme “Empower Nursing: Reflecting on challenges and changes” on 29th and 30th September 2014 in Centenary auditorium, JSS Hospital,Mysore
A Total of 251 delegates from various states of India namely from Karnataka ,Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra participated in the conference
The conference began with inauguration. The honorable guests for the inaugural ceremony were Dr.Prem Kumar, Registrar, RGUHS, Mr. Mahesh.R, Director, Medical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeeta and Mr. Naganna, Chief of Nursing Services, JSS hospital. The conference was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries. Prof.sheela Williams, Principal JSSCON delivered the key note address on the Conference theme Empower Nursing: Reflecting on challenges and changes. Souvenir was released by honorable chief guest.
Following this, scientific sessions were conducted by experts and eminent speakers on Clinical trials in Nursing, Dissemination of research findings and contemporary issues in Nursing. Two panel discussions were organized by the expert Nursing leaders and administrators on the topics “Need of Independent Nurse Practitioner” and “Nursing Empowerment”. Conference resolutions are forwarded to the RGUHS and other State and National apex bodies of nursing profession. Honorable guests for the valedictory ceremony were Sri. Dileep Kumar. President. INC. New Delhi, Prof. Sr. Gilbert, President, TNAI, and other dignitaries. The conference met all the objectives and sensitized the delegates on need of empowerment in nursing.
